The THOMAS BETTS 3140 is an angled, insulated conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). Constructed from malleable iron, this set screw connector provides a secure mechanical connection at the point where FMC terminates into an enclosure, junction box, or panel. The angled body simplifies routing in tight spaces where a straight connector would create a sharp bend in the conduit. At a 2-inch trade size, it is suited for larger-diameter FMC runs found in commercial and industrial wiring systems. Licensed electricians install this fitting as part of compliant raceway assemblies.
This connector is intended for non-hazardous area applications and fits 2-inch trade size FMC. It is commonly used in commercial electrical installations, mechanical room wiring, and equipment connections where flexible conduit must terminate at an enclosure or motor junction box. The insulated throat protects conductors from abrasion at the point of entry, which is required in many NEC-governed installations. The angled profile helps manage conduit direction changes without excessive stress on the conduit body.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit connector for 2-inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous location electrical installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 348 governing flexible metal conduit. De-energize and lock out the circuit or enclosure before beginning work. The set screw should be tightened with the appropriate screwdriver or hex key to secure the connector to the conduit without deforming it. Do not use this fitting in classified hazardous locations.
