The THOMAS BETTS 3120 is a straight, set-screw conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). Constructed from malleable iron, this connector provides a secure mechanical connection at the point where FMC terminates into a junction box, panel, or enclosure knockout. The insulated throat protects wire insulation from abrasion at the conduit entry point. Sized for 2-inch trade size FMC, it is intended for use in non-hazardous locations and is installed by licensed electricians during rough-in or finishing work on commercial and residential electrical systems.
This connector is suited for 2-inch trade size FMC terminations in non-hazardous indoor and outdoor installations where a straight entry into an enclosure is required. Typical applications include motor connections, HVAC equipment wiring, and general branch circuit work where flexible conduit is used to provide vibration isolation or final connection flexibility. The set-screw design allows for quick, tool-assisted securing of the conduit without the need for additional compression fittings.
Designed for use with 2-inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous location installations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits at the panel before beginning conduit termination work. Insert the FMC into the connector and tighten the set screw firmly using the appropriate screwdriver or hex key to ensure a secure mechanical connection. Verify the connector is fully seated and locked into the enclosure knockout before restoring power.
