The THOMAS BETTS 3119 is a straight, insulated conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). Constructed from malleable iron, this set screw connector provides a secure mechanical connection between FMC and an electrical enclosure, junction box, or panel. The insulated throat protects conductor insulation from abrasion at the point of entry. It is rated for a 1-1/2 inch trade size FMC application and is intended for use in non-hazardous locations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of fitting during rough-in and finish wiring on commercial and residential projects.
This connector is suited for 1-1/2 inch trade size FMC terminations in non-hazardous indoor and outdoor electrical installations. Typical applications include connecting flexible metal conduit to motor junction boxes, control panels, and electrical enclosures where a straight entry is required. The set screw design allows for reliable field installation without special tooling beyond a standard screwdriver or hex key.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard installation fitting for 1-1/2 inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before beginning any conduit termination work. Insert the FMC into the connector body and tighten the set screw firmly to secure the conduit before making any wire connections. Verify that the insulated throat is properly seated to prevent conductor damage at the point of entry.
