The THOMAS BETTS 2B-14 is a non-insulated, crimp-on butt splice terminal designed to create secure, low-resistance inline wire connections. Constructed from copper with a tin nitride (TiN) contact plating, the 2B-14 accepts two wire entries and measures 0.62 inches in overall length with a 0.12-inch overall diameter. It meets CSA, UL, MIL-T-7928, and RoHS requirements, making it suitable for demanding electrical and control wiring applications. Electricians and control panel wiring technicians reach for this style of terminal when building wire harnesses, splicing conductors in junction boxes, or extending runs in low-voltage control circuits.
The 2B-14 is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work where an inline wire splice is required. Its non-insulated design is common in panel wiring, engine harness work, and equipment control circuits where the technician applies a separate heat-shrink sleeve or insulating boot after crimping. This SKU ships in a 100-piece package, making it practical for service vans, panel shops, and electrical contractors who regularly perform splice work.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp butt splice terminal for use in general electrical wiring, control panel assembly, and wire harness fabrication where a non-insulated inline splice connector is specified.
Installation requires a ratcheting or bench-mount crimp tool rated for non-insulated barrel terminals — do not substitute pliers, as an improper crimp will compromise pull-out strength and electrical continuity. De-energize all circuits before splicing conductors and verify with a meter before handling bare wire ends. Work performed in permanent building wiring must comply with the applicable edition of the NEC. Because the barrel is non-insulated, a listed insulating sleeve or heat-shrink tubing should be applied over the finished crimp before returning the circuit to service.
