The THOMAS BETTS 2544 is a liquidtight straight strain relief cord grip designed to secure and protect cables at conduit entry points in wet, oily, or industrial environments. Constructed from zinc, this cord grip accommodates cables ranging from 0.5 to 0.625 inches in diameter and threads directly into a 1-inch NPT fitting. With an overall length of 1-23/32 inches, it provides a compact, secure connection that resists pull-out forces and maintains a liquidtight seal. Electricians and maintenance technicians install this fitting wherever flexible liquidtight conduit terminates at a panel, enclosure, or junction box requiring cord retention.
This cord grip is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where a straight-entry liquidtight termination is required. Typical applications include motor connections, control panel wiring, and equipment drops where cable movement, vibration, or fluid exposure is a concern. The 1-inch NPT thread size makes it compatible with standard knockout fittings and conduit bodies commonly found in control enclosures and electrical panels.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit cord grip for electrical enclosures, control panels, and junction boxes with 1-inch NPT threaded knockouts requiring straight liquidtight cable entry.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits and lock out the panel or enclosure before installing or replacing any cord grip or fitting. Use appropriate hand tools to thread the fitting snugly into the NPT knockout without overtightening, which can crack the zinc body. Verify the liquidtight seal is fully engaged and that the cable is clamped securely within the grip before restoring power.
