The THOMAS BETTS 18RA-6FL is a locking fork terminal designed for secure, vibration-resistant electrical terminations in commercial and industrial wiring applications. The terminal features a crimp connection method with partial vinyl insulation rated at 600 volts. The copper contact with TiN (titanium nitride) plating provides corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. Sized for a 6 stud with a 1/4 inch fork width and an overall length of 0.97 inches, this terminal is compact and suited for panel wiring, control circuits, and equipment terminations where a positive mechanical lock on the stud is required. Licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians are the primary installers.
This locking fork terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical applications where standard spade terminals are insufficient due to vibration or accidental disconnection risk. The locking design keeps the terminal seated on the stud even under mechanical stress. The red color coding indicates compatibility with wire ranges typically associated with that color in the 18 to 22 AWG range. It is appropriate for use in panel boards, junction boxes, control enclosures, and equipment wiring where a 6 stud termination is specified.
Designed for use with 6 stud hardware in standard crimp termination applications. Compatible where UL 486A and UL 486B listed locking fork terminals are specified. Sold in packages of 100 units.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a meter before terminating or removing any conductors. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool appropriate for the terminal and wire gauge to achieve a proper mechanical and electrical crimp. Do not over-crimp or modify the locking tab, as deformation can compromise the retention and electrical integrity of the connection.
