The THOMAS BETTS 18RA-6 is a partially insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimp connections on copper conductors ranging from 22 to 16 AWG. The contact is made from copper with a TiN (tin) plating for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. The vinyl insulation sleeve is rated UL 94 V-0 for flame resistance. At 0.94 inches in overall length and 0.25 inches in ring width, this terminal fits a No. 6 stud. Electricians and low-voltage technicians use this terminal to terminate control wiring, instrumentation leads, and light-gauge power circuits in panels, enclosures, and equipment cabinets.
This terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical applications wherever a secure, insulated ring lug is needed on small-gauge wire. Typical install scenarios include HVAC control wiring, instrumentation panels, appliance wiring harnesses, and light commercial electrical enclosures. The No. 6 stud size makes it compatible with common terminal blocks and equipment mounting points. Each package contains 100 terminals, making it practical for production wiring or service calls requiring multiple terminations.
Designed for crimp termination on 22 to 16 AWG copper wire with a No. 6 stud size, suitable for use in standard electrical panels, terminal blocks, and control enclosures where a partially insulated ring terminal is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified technician in accordance with NEC guidelines. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or removing any ring terminal. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for the wire gauge and terminal type to achieve a proper crimp — hand tools or pliers are not an acceptable substitute. Inspect the crimp for a full, uniform barrel compression before reinstalling the assembly.
