The THOMAS BETTS 18RA-516 is a partially insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimp connections on copper conductors ranging from 22 to 16 AWG. The terminal body measures 1.13 inches in overall length and 0.5 inches in ring width, with a 5/16-inch stud hole for secure fastening. The copper contact features a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for corrosion resistance. The vinyl insulation sleeve is rated UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance. This terminal is installed by electricians, panel builders, and automation technicians working on control wiring, panel terminations, and field device connections.
This ring terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring applications where a reliable, permanent crimp termination is required. It is commonly used in control panels, junction boxes, and equipment wiring where 22 to 16 AWG conductors must be secured to 5/16-inch studs or screw terminals. The red color coding aligns with standard wire gauge identification conventions for this AWG range. Each package contains 100 terminals with a minimum order quantity of 1.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp ring terminal compatible with 22 to 16 AWG copper conductors terminating on 5/16-inch studs or screw terminals in control wiring and panel assembly applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for terminal and conductor sizing. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratchet crimping tool rated for the applicable AWG range to ensure a gas-tight connection. Do not re-crimp a terminal that has already been seated on a conductor.
