The THOMAS BETTS 17219-BD is a ring terminal designed for terminating 2/0 AWG conductors to a 1/2 inch stud connection. Ring terminals of this type provide a secure, low-resistance mechanical and electrical connection between heavy-gauge wire and threaded fastener points. This terminal is suited for high-current applications where a reliable, permanent lug connection is required. Electricians and electrical contractors install these terminals during panel work, grounding applications, battery bank wiring, and large equipment terminations where 2/0 AWG conductors are specified.
This ring terminal is appropriate for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations as well as residential service entrance and grounding work involving 2/0 AWG wire. It is sized for a 1/2 inch stud, making it compatible with bus bars, grounding lugs, and terminal blocks that accept that stud diameter. Applications include switchgear, load centers, battery systems, and large motor termination points where heavy conductors must be securely fastened.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal for use with 2/0 AWG conductors on 1/2 inch threaded studs in electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor terminations and grounding. De-energize all circuits and verify absence of voltage before terminating conductors. Use a calibrated crimping tool rated for the terminal and wire gauge combination to ensure a proper mechanical and electrical crimp. Do not rely on solder alone as the sole means of retention for ring terminals in high-current applications.
