Licensed electricians and experienced wire harness technicians typically install this type of terminal using a calibrated crimping tool rated for the conductor size.
This ring terminal is appropriate for residential and commercial electrical installations where 1/0 AWG conductors are terminated to busbars, battery terminals, grounding lugs, or equipment studs. Its 1/4-inch stud hole fits standard fastener sizes found in panel boards, junction boxes, and electrical equipment enclosures. Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor terminations. De-energize and lock out the circuit before stripping the conductor and crimping the terminal. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimping tool sized for 1/0 AWG to ensure a proper crimp — do not use pliers or non-rated tools. After crimping, inspect the barrel for cracks and confirm the ring seats flat against the stud before tightening the fastener.
