The THOMAS BETTS -17212-3-BD is a ring terminal designed for 4 AWG wire with a No. 10 stud size. Ring terminals provide a secure, low-resistance electrical connection by looping around a screw or stud fastener. This type of terminal is used in control panels, electrical enclosures, and equipment wiring where a reliable mechanical and electrical bond is required. Licensed electricians and panel technicians install these terminals during wire termination work on branch circuits, control wiring, and grounding applications. The -17212-3-BD is sold individually per package.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where 4 AWG conductors need to be terminated at a stud or screw connection point. Typical applications include service panels, motor control centers, HVAC equipment wiring, and grounding connections. It is appropriate for use wherever a permanent, stud-mounted termination is required on a 4 AWG conductor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement ring terminal for use with 4 AWG conductors terminated at No. 10 stud connections in electrical panels, control enclosures, and equipment wiring.
Ring terminals of this type are installed by licensed electricians using a ratcheting crimp tool sized for the wire gauge and terminal series. Always de-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage with a meter before terminating any conductor. Follow NEC requirements for conductor preparation, including proper insulation strip length and conductor inspection prior to crimping. Do not re-crimp a terminal that has already been installed and removed.
