The THOMAS BETTS 17069-BD is a 2/0 AWG ring terminal designed for high-current electrical terminations in commercial, industrial, and heavy-duty residential applications. The terminal features a copper contact body with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, which improves corrosion resistance and provides a low-resistance connection at the lug interface. Electricians and maintenance technicians use ring terminals of this type to terminate large-gauge conductors at bus bars, lugs, or bolted connection points. The 2/0 AWG wire entry accommodates the conductor size common in service entrance, panel feeder, and equipment grounding applications.
This ring terminal is suited for use in high-ampacity wiring runs where a secure, bolted termination is required. Typical install scenarios include service entrance cable terminations, motor feeder connections, generator output wiring, and grounding conductor attachments in commercial electrical panels and industrial equipment. The TiN-plated copper contact is appropriate for environments where oxidation or galvanic corrosion is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal for use with 2/0 AWG copper conductors in bolted electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements for conductor terminations. De-energize and lock out the circuit before installing or removing any terminal lug. Use a properly calibrated crimping tool rated for 2/0 AWG terminals to ensure a gas-tight crimp; do not use undersized or hand-squeeze crimpers on large-gauge lugs. Verify the bolt torque specification at the receiving lug or bus bar per the equipment manufacturer's requirements.
