The THOMAS BETTS 17064-BD is a copper ring terminal designed for secure, permanent electrical connections at the wire termination point. Rated for 1/0 AWG wire, it features a tin (TiN) plated copper contact that resists corrosion and maintains low contact resistance over time. Ring terminals of this type are crimped onto the stripped end of a conductor and bolted to a lug, bus bar, or stud. Electricians and electrical contractors use these terminals in panel wiring, grounding applications, and heavy-gauge conductor terminations where a reliable mechanical and electrical bond is required.
This ring terminal is suited for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where 1/0 AWG conductors are terminated to fixed connection points. Typical applications include service entrance wiring, grounding electrode conductors, and large-load branch circuit terminations. The TiN plating makes it appropriate for environments where moisture or mild corrosion exposure is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal for use with 1/0 AWG copper conductors in standard electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before stripping conductors or installing terminals. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for 1/0 AWG terminals to ensure a proper mechanical crimp. Do not solder over a crimped ring terminal, as this can introduce brittleness at the barrel joint.
