The THOMAS BETTS 17054-BD is a copper ring terminal designed for crimping onto 1/0 AWG wire. Ring terminals provide a secure, low-resistance connection between a conductor and a threaded stud or screw terminal. This terminal features a tin nitride (TiN) plated copper contact, which improves corrosion resistance and contact durability under vibration and thermal cycling. It is used by electricians and industrial maintenance technicians in panel wiring, battery systems, grounding applications, and heavy-gauge conductor terminations where a reliable mechanical and electrical bond is required.
This terminal is suited for 1/0 AWG copper conductors and is appropriate for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations. Typical applications include battery bank connections, inverter wiring, grounding lugs, switchgear terminations, and large-gauge service entrance work where code-compliant, permanent connections are needed. The copper contact body ensures excellent conductivity across these applications.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal for use with 1/0 AWG conductors in standard electrical termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lockout/tagout the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the terminal size and wire gauge to achieve a proper crimp — hand tools or pliers are not acceptable substitutes. Inspect the completed crimp for deformation or pull-out before restoring power.
