The THOMAS BETTS 14RBD-182 is a fully insulated female disconnect terminal designed for making secure, solderless wire connections in electrical control circuits. The vinyl insulation sleeve covers the full barrel and tab entry, protecting the connection from accidental contact and environmental contamination. Rated for 16-14 AWG wire, this terminal accepts a 0.187 inch tab width, a common standard size used throughout residential and commercial electrical, HVAC control wiring, and appliance applications. Electricians and HVAC technicians install these terminals when building or servicing wiring harnesses and control panel assemblies.
This disconnect terminal is well suited for residential and light commercial electrical work, HVAC low-voltage and line-voltage control circuits, appliance wiring, and panel or enclosure builds. The push-on female design connects to standard 0.187 inch male tab receptacles without tools, making it a practical choice for service calls and production wiring alike. The blue vinyl insulation identifies 16-14 AWG range at a glance, reducing mis-termination on multi-gauge jobs. Each package contains 100 terminals.
Designed for use with 16-14 AWG conductors and standard 0.187 inch (3/16 inch) male quick-disconnect tab terminals found in residential and commercial electrical, HVAC, and appliance wiring applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified HVAC technicians following applicable NEC requirements. Always de-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a meter before terminating or disconnecting wires. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool sized for the 16-14 AWG range to ensure a gas-tight crimp on the barrel. Do not over-crimp or attempt to solder the barrel, as either can damage the vinyl insulation and compromise the connection.
