The THOMAS BETTS 14RB-516 is a partially insulated D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimp connections on 18 to 14 AWG copper conductors. The terminal body is 1.15 inches long and 0.5 inches wide, fitted with a 5/16-inch stud hole for secure fastening to bus bars, lugs, and terminal blocks. The copper contact features a TiN (tin) plating to resist corrosion and maintain conductivity over time. The vinyl insulation sleeve is blue, providing a standard color-coded indication for the 18 to 14 AWG wire range. Electricians and panel technicians use these terminals to terminate stranded or solid wire in both panel work and field wiring applications.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and light commercial electrical work, control panel assembly, HVAC low-voltage wiring, and general equipment wiring where a reliable mechanical and electrical crimp connection is required. The 5/16-inch stud size accommodates standard machine screws and bolt terminals found in junction boxes, motor controllers, and distribution panels. Each package contains 100 terminals, making it practical for contractors stocking service vehicles or shop inventory.
Designed for use with 18 to 14 AWG stranded or solid copper wire. Fits 5/16-inch studs on terminal blocks, bus bars, and panel lugs in standard residential and commercial electrical assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating or inspecting ring terminals. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the terminal series to achieve a proper crimp — an under-crimped connection is a fire and continuity hazard. Inspect the insulation sleeve after crimping to confirm no cracking or splitting has occurred.
