The THOMAS BETTS 1454 is a thermoplastic knockout plug designed to seal unused conduit knockouts in electrical enclosures. It fits 1-1/4 inch conduit openings and is compatible with rigid conduit and IMC conduit installations. The plug prevents debris, moisture, and pests from entering enclosures through open knockouts, maintaining a clean and code-compliant installation. Electricians use this plug during new construction, renovation, and service work wherever a conduit entry point is no longer needed or was never used. The thermoplastic construction provides durable, non-metallic performance in a range of standard enclosure applications.
This knockout plug is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where rigid conduit or IMC conduit enters a panel, junction box, or equipment enclosure. It is used when a knockout has been removed but no conduit is being installed at that location, or as a protective closure during rough-in before final conduit runs are made. The plug is sold individually, making it easy to stock and use on a per-opening basis.
Designed for use with 1-1/4 inch rigid conduit and IMC conduit knockout openings in standard electrical enclosures.
Licensed electricians typically install knockout plugs as part of enclosure preparation or final cleanup. De-energize and lock out the enclosure before inserting or removing any plugs. The plug should seat fully and flush in the knockout opening. Installation must comply with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements for enclosure integrity and unused opening closure.
