The THOMAS BETTS 1282 is a hot dipped galvanized steel pipe and conduit strap designed to secure 2.5-inch pipe or conduit to structural surfaces. Constructed from steel with a hot dipped galvanized finish, this strap resists corrosion in damp and outdoor environments. It features a single mounting hole and accepts a 0.5-inch bolt for fastening. Electricians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors use this strap during rough-in work to support rigid conduit, EMT, or pipe runs at required intervals per applicable code.
This strap is suited for both residential and light commercial installations where 2.5-inch pipe or conduit must be anchored to wood framing, concrete, or structural steel. Common applications include securing rigid metallic conduit runs, galvanized pipe, and similar round cross-section materials. The hot dipped galvanized coating makes it appropriate for wet locations, exterior installations, and areas subject to moisture exposure.
Designed as an OEM-style one-hole strap for securing 2.5-inch rigid pipe or conduit. Cross-references include Appleton part number CL-250M, Gedney part number 14-250G, and Raco part number 1310.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or plumbers depending on the application. Ensure the mounting surface is structurally adequate to support the pipe or conduit load before fastening. Follow NEC or IPC strap-spacing requirements for the pipe or conduit type being supported. Use the appropriate bolt and anchor hardware for the substrate material.
