The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8strbrnmr is an 8 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C in dry environments. The conductor is made from copper with a 19-strand configuration, making it flexible enough for conduit pulls and branch circuit wiring. The insulation is brown PVC thermoplastic with a nylon jacket, which provides resistance to oil, gasoline, and abrasion. This wire is sold cut to length and is installed by licensed electricians in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications where NEC-compliant branch circuit or feeder wiring is required.
This wire is suited for use in conduit systems including EMT, rigid metal, and PVC conduit in dry locations. It is commonly used for branch circuits, panel feeders, and general-purpose electrical distribution. The brown insulation color supports phase identification in multi-wire installations. At 8 AWG with a 19-strand rope lay, it routes cleanly through conduit bends and pull boxes without excessive stiffness. Electricians working on service upgrades, subpanel feeds, or equipment branch circuits will find this a standard-duty conductor for those tasks.
Designed for use in NEC-compliant conduit wiring systems in dry locations. Suitable as a standard THHN building wire conductor in residential and commercial electrical installations wherever 8 AWG brown-insulated wire is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before making any terminations. Use wire lubricant on longer conduit pulls to protect the insulation jacket. Verify conductor ampacity against NEC Table 310.15(B)(16) and apply any required correction factors for conduit fill, ambient temperature, or bundling.
