The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8strbrn500r is a 500-foot reel of 8 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire with brown PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. It carries a 600-volt rating and a 90 degrees C dry temperature rating, making it well suited for branch circuit wiring in commercial and residential electrical installations. The 19-strand configuration provides flexibility during pull-through in conduit runs. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this conductor type.
This wire is used in conduit installations for branch circuits, feeder runs, and panel feeds in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The brown insulation color serves as a phase identifier in multi-conductor conduit pulls, typically designating a hot leg in a three-phase system. With ampacity ratings of 40 amps at 60 degrees C, 50 amps at 75 degrees C, and 55 amps at 90 degrees C, it supports a wide range of load requirements across different conduit fill and ambient temperature conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style THHN conductor for use in conduit systems requiring 8 AWG stranded copper wire rated at 600 volts and 90 degrees C dry service.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating conductors at panels, disconnects, or junction boxes. THHN wire must be pulled through approved conduit and is not rated for direct burial or wet locations without additional protection. Do not exceed the ampacity limits defined by NEC Table 310.15 for the applicable conduit fill and ambient temperature conditions.
