The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8strblu500r is a 500-foot reel of 8 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire with blue PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. Rated at 600 volts and 90 degrees C in both dry and wet environments, it meets the requirements for general-purpose branch circuit and feeder wiring in commercial and residential construction. The 19-strand configuration provides flexibility during pulls through conduit. Ampacity is 40 amps at 60 degrees C, 50 amps at 75 degrees C, and 55 amps at 90 degrees C, making it suitable for a range of panel, feeder, and equipment circuit applications.
This wire is used in conduit runs for branch circuits, feeder conductors, and equipment connections in residential and commercial electrical systems. The blue insulation color supports phase or circuit identification in multi-conductor installations. Electricians commonly specify THHN for use in EMT, rigid metal, and PVC conduit systems where a durable, heat- and moisture-resistant conductor is required. The 500-foot reel reduces the need for mid-run splices on longer pulls.
Designed for use in EMT, rigid metal conduit, intermediate metal conduit, and PVC conduit systems where THHN or THWN-2 rated conductors are specified per NEC requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out all circuits before connecting or terminating conductors. Use a reel stand or wire puller to avoid kinking or damaging the nylon jacket during conduit pulls. Do not exceed the published ampacity ratings for the applicable conductor temperature rating at the termination point.
