The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8strblkmr is an 8 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C in dry environments. Constructed with a 19-strand copper conductor, PVC thermoplastic insulation, and an outer nylon jacket, this wire is sized for branch circuit and feeder runs where a reliable, code-compliant conductor is required. Current capacity is 40 amps at 60 degrees C, 50 amps at 75 degrees C, and 55 amps at 90 degrees C. Electricians use this wire in conduit for residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring applications. It is sold cut to length to reduce waste on the job.
This wire is suited for installation inside conduit systems in residential and commercial construction, service panels, subpanel feeders, motor circuits, and general branch circuit wiring. The black insulation color is standard for hot conductors in single-phase and three-phase systems. Cut-to-length purchasing is practical for service calls, panel work, or smaller conduit runs where a full reel is not warranted. A licensed electrician should pull, terminate, and inspect all installations per applicable NEC requirements.
Designed as a standard THHN-rated building wire for use in conduit on residential and commercial electrical systems where 8 AWG copper conductors are specified.
Installation must be performed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage at the panel before pulling or terminating conductors. This wire must be installed inside an approved conduit or raceway and is not rated for direct burial or wet locations without additional protection. Use appropriate wire-pulling lubricant and correct conduit fill calculations to avoid insulation damage during the pull.
