The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn4strorgmr is a 4 AWG stranded copper THHN wire with orange PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, rated for use in dry environments up to 90 degrees C and 600 volts. This conductor uses a 19-strand configuration for improved flexibility compared to solid wire, making it easier to pull through conduit runs. Current capacity is 70 amps at 60 degrees C, 85 amps at 75 degrees C, and 100 amps at 90 degrees C. Electricians use this wire for branch circuit wiring, feeder runs, and panel work in both residential and commercial applications. It is sold cut to length.
This THHN wire is suited for conduit installations in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. The orange insulation color aids in phase identification and circuit tracing during installation and service. It is appropriate for dry conduit applications where a durable thermoplastic insulation system is required. Licensed electricians typically pull this wire in EMT, rigid metal conduit, or PVC conduit as part of feeder or branch circuit assemblies. The cut-to-length format reduces material waste on jobs where standard spool lengths would result in excess.
Designed for use in dry conduit installations as a standard 4 AWG THHN copper conductor suitable for branch circuit and feeder wiring applications per NEC guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations based on the 318 mil outer diameter when sizing conduit. Do not use this wire in wet or direct-burial locations without verifying the appropriate rating for those environments.
