The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn4/0strblumr is a 4/0 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated for 600 volts with a 90 degrees C dry temperature rating. It features a 19-strand copper conductor insulated with PVC thermoplastic and jacketed in nylon, the standard THHN construction that resists abrasion, moisture, and oil in conduit runs. At 4/0 AWG, this wire carries up to 195 amps at 60 degrees C, 230 amps at 75 degrees C, or 260 amps at 90 degrees C depending on the installation method and ambient conditions. Licensed electricians use this wire for service entrance feeders, branch circuits, panelboard connections, and industrial power distribution. It is sold cut to length.
This wire is suited for commercial and residential electrical installations where large-gauge conductors are pulled through conduit. Typical applications include main service feeders, subpanel feeds, motor branch circuits, and heavy-load branch circuit wiring. The blue insulation color aids in phase identification and circuit tracing during installation and future service work. It is appropriate for indoor and outdoor conduit installations in dry conditions consistent with the 90 degrees C dry rating.
Designed for use in conduit systems as an OEM-style THHN building wire suitable for 600-volt power distribution wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications where 4/0 AWG copper conductors are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out all circuits before terminating or splicing conductors. This wire is rated for dry conduit installations only — verify the installation environment meets the temperature and moisture requirements of the THHN rating before pulling. Use appropriate wire-pulling lubricant and conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 when pulling 4/0 AWG conductors through conduit.
