The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn3strorgmr is a 3 AWG stranded copper conductor THHN building wire rated for 600 volts. The conductor is built with 19 strands for flexibility and features PVC thermoplastic insulation with a nylon jacket in orange. Current capacity is 85 amps at 60 degrees C, 100 amps at 75 degrees C, and 115 amps at 90 degrees C. The 90 degrees C dry temperature rating makes it suitable for use in conduit runs inside walls, ceilings, and electrical enclosures. Licensed electricians pull this wire for branch circuit and feeder work in residential and commercial installations.
This wire is sold cut to length, making it practical for jobs where a full spool is not needed. The 3 AWG size is commonly used for branch circuits, sub-panel feeders, and equipment connections requiring higher ampacity than smaller gauge wire. The orange insulation color aids in circuit identification and is useful in multi-conductor conduit runs where color-coded wire management is required by project specs or local code. Suitable for use in dry conduit environments per its THHN rating.
Designed for use in conduit as a THHN-rated building wire for dry locations in residential and commercial electrical installations per NEC requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before terminating conductors. Use appropriate wire pulling lubricant when routing through conduit to avoid insulation damage. Do not exceed the ampacity ratings for the installed temperature rating of the circuit.
