The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn2strgrnmr is a 2 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated for 600 volts, available cut to length for job-specific runs. The conductor is built from 19-strand copper, giving it the flexibility needed for pulling through conduit on commercial and residential jobs. The PVC thermoplastic insulation is covered with a nylon jacket, which reduces friction during pulls and provides the abrasion resistance required for conduit installations. Current capacity is 95 amps at 60 degrees C, 115 amps at 75 degrees C, and 130 amps at 90 degrees C. The green insulation color designates this wire for equipment grounding conductor (EGC) applications under NEC Article 250.
This wire is suited for use in branch circuits, feeders, and equipment grounding runs in dry locations. It is commonly installed in EMT, rigid metal conduit, or PVC conduit on residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. Licensed electricians use this wire for panel feeds, sub-panel grounding, and equipment ground connections where a 2 AWG green conductor is specified. The cut-to-length format reduces material waste on projects that do not require a full reel.
Designed for use as an equipment grounding conductor or general-purpose building wire in dry conduit installations where 2 AWG THHN copper wire is specified per NEC requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 310 and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits at the panel before terminating or connecting any conductors. This wire is rated for dry locations only and is not approved for direct burial or wet location use without additional protection. Use listed lugs and terminals rated for copper conductors and sized for 2 AWG.
