The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn1strredmr is a 1 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire rated for 600 volts and sold cut to length. It features 19-strand copper construction with PVC thermoplastic insulation and a nylon jacket, giving it the flexibility and abrasion resistance required for conduit pulls in both new construction and retrofit work. Current capacity is 110 amps at 60 degrees C, 130 amps at 75 degrees C, and 150 amps at 90 degrees C. The 90 degrees C dry temperature rating makes it suitable for demanding branch circuit, feeder, and service entrance applications. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this wire type.
This wire is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations. It is pulled through conduit for branch circuits, feeder runs, and panel connections where a 1 AWG conductor is specified. The red insulation color supports standard color-coding practices for phase identification on 3-phase systems or for custom circuit labeling. Cut-to-length availability reduces waste on job sites where specific footage is required rather than a full reel.
Designed for use in conduit installations in accordance with NEC Article 310 requirements for THHN-rated building wire at 600 volts or below.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. This wire is rated for dry locations; verify the installation environment matches the temperature and moisture rating before pulling. Use appropriately sized conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 to avoid exceeding conduit capacity.
