The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn14stryel500r is a 14 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire supplied on a 500-foot spool. The conductor is made up of 19 strands of copper and is insulated with PVC, then jacketed with nylon for added abrasion resistance and pull-through performance in conduit. Rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C in dry environments, this wire meets the demands of branch circuit and general wiring work where a 15-amp, color-coded yellow conductor is required. Electricians use this wire for residential, commercial, and light industrial installations where THHN is the specified wire type.
This wire is suited for use in conduit runs on branch circuits, control wiring, and general-purpose electrical installations in dry locations. The yellow insulation color provides easy phase or circuit identification in panel and junction box work. At 14 AWG with a 15-amp current rating and 600-volt insulation, it is appropriate for standard 15-amp branch circuits in both residential and commercial settings. The 500-foot spool size supports larger pull runs or multiple smaller jobs from a single reel.
Designed as a standard THHN-rated building wire for use in conduit in dry locations per NEC guidelines for 14 AWG, 15-amp branch circuit applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any terminations or splices. THHN wire must be run inside approved conduit or raceway in dry locations — do not install as open wiring or in wet locations without a wire type rated for that environment. Verify conduit fill calculations before pulling to avoid exceeding allowable fill percentages.
