The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn14strgrn2500r is a 14 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire supplied on a 2500-foot reel. The conductor is constructed from copper with a 19-strand configuration, providing flexibility during pull-through in conduit runs. Insulation is PVC thermoplastic with an outer nylon jacket, rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C in dry locations. Current capacity is 15 amps. The green insulation color designates this wire for use as an equipment grounding conductor per NEC conventions. Electricians use this wire for branch circuit grounding in residential, commercial, and light industrial installations.
This wire is suited for use in conduit or raceways as required by the NEC for THHN-rated conductors. The 2500-foot reel format is practical for larger projects where pulling continuous runs reduces splice points and labor time. Typical applications include panel grounding conductors, equipment grounding in commercial tenant build-outs, and branch circuit grounding in new residential construction. The 19-strand configuration makes the wire easier to route through conduit bends compared to solid conductors of the same gauge.
Designed as a standard THHN equipment grounding conductor for use in conduit and raceway systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations where 14 AWG green grounding wire is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify lockout/tagout procedures before making any connections. THHN wire must be installed in conduit or an approved raceway — direct burial is not permitted for this wire type. Use a wire-pulling lubricant approved for PVC insulation when pulling through long conduit runs to avoid insulation damage.
