The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn12strbrn2500r is a 12 AWG stranded copper conductor wire rated for general-purpose branch circuit wiring in commercial and residential electrical systems. The conductor is built with 19-strand copper for flexibility during pull-through conduit runs. Insulation is PVC with a nylon jacket, meeting the THHN designation for dry and wet location use. The wire carries a 600-volt rating and is suitable for 20-amp circuits at temperatures up to 90 degrees C in dry environments and 75 degrees C in wet environments. This 2500-foot reel format is sized for larger jobs where pulling from a full reel reduces splicing and waste.
This wire is used in conduit installations for branch circuit wiring, panel feeds, motor circuits, and general building wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. The brown insulation color supports color-coded wiring conventions for hot conductors in multi-wire branch circuits. Electricians pulling wire through EMT, rigid conduit, or flexible conduit on new construction or renovation projects will find the 2500-foot reel practical for extended runs without mid-run joints.
Designed for use in conduit systems where THHN or THWN-2 rated wire is specified for 12 AWG branch circuit conductors in 600-volt or lower applications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before making any terminations. Use wire pulling lubricant approved for PVC-jacketed conductors when routing through conduit to avoid jacket damage. Verify that all terminations and overcurrent protection devices are rated for the conductor temperature and ampacity being used.
