The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn12solred2500r is a 12 AWG solid plain copper THHN building wire supplied on a 2500-foot reel with red PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. Rated for 600 volts and 20 amps, this wire carries a 90 degrees C dry temperature rating and a 75 degrees C wet temperature rating, making it suitable for a wide range of branch-circuit and feeder applications. The solid copper conductor provides reliable conductivity and consistent performance in conduit installations. The nylon jacket adds abrasion resistance and eases pulling through conduit. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This wire is used in residential and light commercial wiring applications where THHN-rated conductors are required. Common uses include branch circuits, feeder runs, and panel wiring pulled through conduit or raceways. The red insulation color is widely used for identification of specific phase conductors, switch legs, or secondary circuits in accordance with field labeling practices. The 2500-foot reel length is well suited for larger jobs or stocking by electrical contractors who need consistent supply on multi-unit or commercial projects.
Designed as a standard THHN-rated building wire suitable for use in conduit, raceways, and other approved wiring methods in residential and commercial electrical systems where 12 AWG, 600-volt, THHN conductors are specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit at the panel before making any connections. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations per NEC Chapter 9 when selecting conduit size. Do not exceed the ampacity or temperature ratings listed for this conductor type.
