The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn12solgrn2500r is a 12 AWG solid plain copper THHN building wire with green PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, supplied on a 2500-foot reel. THHN wire is a standard single-conductor product used for branch circuit wiring in conduit runs across residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. The 600-volt rating and 90 degrees C dry / 75 degrees C wet temperature rating make it suitable for a wide range of code-compliant electrical installations. Licensed electricians specify 12 AWG THHN for 20-amp circuits where a continuous reel minimizes splice points on longer pulls.
This green-insulated reel is used where the National Electrical Code (NEC) requires or permits a green conductor for equipment grounding purposes. It is appropriate for conduit-fed branch circuits in panel feeders, junction boxes, and equipment grounding applications in both dry and wet-rated environments. The solid stranding simplifies termination at breakers, receptacles, and grounding lugs without the need to bundle strands. Electrical contractors and maintenance electricians commonly stock full reels to support multiple jobs from a single spool.
Designed as a standard THHN/THWN-compatible building wire suitable for use in EMT, rigid metal conduit, PVC conduit, and other raceway systems where 12 AWG THHN conductors are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before making any terminations. Use a wire-pulling lubricant rated for PVC insulation on longer conduit runs to avoid jacket damage. Solid conductors require compatible terminals rated for solid wire — confirm terminal listings before landing on devices or lugs.
