The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn10solyel2500r is a 10 AWG solid plain copper conductor with PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, supplied on a 2500-foot reel in yellow insulation. THHN-rated wire is a standard choice for branch circuit wiring in conduit across residential, commercial, and light industrial installations. This conductor carries a 600-volt rating and a 90 degrees C dry temperature rating, making it suitable for a wide range of conduit-based wiring applications. The solid stranding is well suited to general branch circuit runs where flexibility is not required. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this type of conductor.
This wire is used in conduit systems for branch circuit wiring in residential and commercial buildings. Typical applications include panel feeders, branch circuits, and fixture wiring where a single solid conductor is appropriate. The yellow insulation color aids in phase identification and circuit tracing during installation and service. The 2500-foot reel format is suited for larger projects or supply house stocking where bulk yardage is needed. Current capacity is rated at 20 amps at 60 degrees C, 20 amps at 75 degrees C, and 30 amps at 90 degrees C depending on the conduit fill and temperature conditions of the installation.
Designed for use in conduit systems where THHN-rated solid copper conductor is specified for branch circuit or feeder wiring at 600 volts or less.
Installation of THHN wire in conduit must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Do not exceed the conduit fill percentages specified by the NEC for the conduit type and size being used. Solid conductors of this gauge are typically terminated using listed wire connectors or compression lugs rated for solid copper conductors.
