The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn10solred2500r is a 10 AWG solid plain copper THHN building wire rated at 600 volts, supplied on a 2500-foot reel. The conductor is insulated with PVC and jacketed with nylon, the standard construction for THHN wire used in conduit installations. The nylon jacket resists abrasion and pulling friction during conduit pulls. This wire carries a 90 degrees C dry temperature rating and a 75 degrees C wet temperature rating, giving it strong ampacity headroom in typical conduit runs. It is identified by a red insulation color for easy circuit tracing and phase identification. Licensed electricians install this wire in residential, commercial, and light industrial wiring systems.
This wire is suited for use in dry or damp locations where NEC-compliant conduit wiring is required. The 2500-foot reel length is appropriate for large commercial or multi-unit residential projects where continuous runs reduce splice points. The solid 10 AWG conductor is commonly used for branch circuits, including 20-amp general-purpose and appliance circuits. The red insulation is frequently used to identify a second ungrounded conductor in multi-wire branch circuits or three-phase systems, consistent with NEC color-convention practices.
Designed for use in conduit systems where THHN or THWN-2 building wire is specified per NEC Article 310. Suitable for dry and damp locations in residential, commercial, and light industrial conduit installations.
Installation of THHN building wire must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements and local electrical codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before pulling or terminating wire. THHN wire is rated for use in conduit or raceways and should not be installed as open wiring without appropriate protection. Verify conduit fill calculations using the 0.152-inch outer diameter to ensure compliance with NEC Chapter 9 tables.
