The THHNCU-GENERIC tffn18strgry500r is a single-conductor TFFN-rated wire built for low-voltage control and fixture wiring in dry environments. The conductor is 16-strand, fully annealed bare copper at 18 AWG, insulated with PVC and a nylon jacket for abrasion resistance. Rated at 600 volts and 90 degrees C in dry conditions, this wire meets the TFFN designation requirements for use in conduit, raceways, and fixture wiring applications. The 500-foot spool format suits both shop stock and field installation work. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
TFFN 18 AWG wire is widely used in residential and light commercial electrical and HVAC control wiring. Common applications include fixture whips, motor control circuits, low-voltage branch circuits in conduit, and general-purpose wiring in dry indoor locations. The gray insulation color supports color-coded wiring schemes and is easy to identify in multi-conductor installations. The 500-foot spool length is practical for panel rooms, equipment rooms, and conduit pulls where moderate wire quantities are needed.
Designed for use in conduit, raceways, and listed fixture assemblies where TFFN or THHN single-conductor wire is specified for dry locations at 600 volts or less.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits before terminating or splicing conductors. TFFN wire is rated for dry locations only — do not install in wet or damp locations without a wire type rated for those conditions. Use appropriate conduit fill calculations per NEC Article 310 when pulling multiple conductors through a single raceway.
