The THHN-GENERIC thhn6strgrymr is a 6 AWG stranded copper conductor wire rated for 600 volts, designed for general-purpose electrical wiring in commercial and residential construction. The conductor is built with 19 strands for added flexibility compared to solid wire, making it easier to pull through conduit on longer runs. Insulation is PVC with a nylon jacket, meeting THHN specifications. Temperature rating is 90 degrees C in both dry and wet environments. Ampacity is 55 amps at 60 degrees C, 65 amps at 75 degrees C, and 75 amps at 90 degrees C. Licensed electricians install this wire in conduit for branch circuits, feeder runs, and service entrance applications.
This wire is suited for commercial and residential electrical installations where THHN-rated conductors are required by code. Typical applications include panel feeder runs, motor branch circuits, and general building wiring pulled through EMT, rigid metal conduit, or PVC conduit. The gray insulation color allows for color-coded circuit identification per NEC requirements. The cut-to-length format reduces waste on jobs where a full reel is not needed.
Designed as a standard THHN-rated replacement or new-install conductor compatible with applications requiring 6 AWG copper wire in conduit per NEC guidelines.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify with a meter before working on any connected panel or junction. This wire must be installed in conduit and is not rated for direct burial or open-air use without conduit protection. Use appropriate wire-pulling lubricant on longer conduit runs to protect the jacket and reduce pull tension.
