The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8stryel500r is a 500-foot reel of 8 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire with yellow PVC insulation and a nylon jacket. Rated for 600 volts and 90 degrees C in both dry and wet locations, this wire meets standard THHN/THWN-2 installation requirements. The 19-strand copper conductor provides flexibility during pull-through in conduit runs. Current capacity is 40 amps at 60 degrees C, 50 amps at 75 degrees C, and 55 amps at 90 degrees C, covering a wide range of code-table ampacity applications. Electricians and contractors use this wire for branch circuit wiring, feeder runs, and equipment connections in commercial and residential construction.
This 8 AWG THHN wire is suited for use in conduit or raceways in dry or wet locations. The yellow insulation color aids in phase identification and circuit organization on job sites. The 500-foot reel format is standard for panel feeders, subpanel runs, and larger branch circuits where significant wire footage is needed. It is appropriate for use in residential service upgrades, commercial tenant build-outs, and light industrial applications where a 600-volt rated conductor is required.
Designed for installation in conduit, raceways, and cable trays where THHN or THWN-2 rated 8 AWG copper wire is specified. Suitable for 600-volt systems per applicable NEC requirements.
Installation of THHN building wire must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before making any connections. Wire must be pulled through listed conduit or raceways and terminated at properly rated lugs or terminals rated for the conductor size and material. Avoid kinking or sharp bends during the pull to maintain insulation integrity.
