The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8strgry1000r is an 8 AWG stranded copper building wire rated for use in conduit and cable tray installations. The conductor is made from copper with a 19-strand configuration for flexibility during pull-in. PVC insulation with a nylon jacket provides the dual-layer protection required for THHN-rated wire. The insulation is gray and the wire is rated at 600 volts with a 90 degrees C temperature rating in both dry and wet environments. Current capacity ranges from 40 amps at 60 degrees C to 55 amps at 90 degrees C. This reel contains 1000 feet of continuous conductor, suitable for large residential, commercial, or light industrial wiring runs.
This wire is used by licensed electricians for branch circuit and feeder wiring in residential and commercial construction. Common applications include panel feeds, sub-panel runs, motor circuits, and general-purpose branch circuits pulled through conduit systems. The 1000-foot reel format is suited to new construction or larger retrofit projects where significant wire quantities are needed in a single pull or across multiple circuits. Gray insulation color supports color-coded conductor identification in multi-wire installations.
Designed for use as a THHN-rated building wire in conduit and raceway systems where 8 AWG copper conductors are required per NEC specifications.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before connecting conductors. Use appropriate wire-pulling lubricant when installing in conduit to avoid insulation damage. Do not exceed the ampacity limits for the installed ambient temperature and conduit fill conditions per NEC tables.
