The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn8strblumr is an 8 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire with blue PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, rated for 600 volts and up to 90 degrees C in dry installations. The conductor is made up of 19 strands of copper, giving it the flexibility needed for pulling through conduit runs in commercial and residential applications. Current capacity is 40 amps at 60 degrees C, 50 amps at 75 degrees C, and 55 amps at 90 degrees C. This wire is sold cut to length and is installed by licensed electricians wherever NEC-compliant branch circuit, feeder, or service wiring is required.
This wire is suited for use in conduit or raceway systems in dry locations, including panel feeders, subpanel runs, motor branch circuits, and general-purpose branch circuit wiring. The blue insulation color aids in phase identification and circuit tracing during installation and future service work. It is commonly used in both light commercial and residential construction where an 8 AWG copper conductor is specified.
Designed as a standard THHN-rated building wire for use in conduit or tubing systems in dry locations per NEC requirements. Suitable wherever 8 AWG copper THHN is specified.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify zero voltage at the panel before pulling or terminating wire. THHN wire must be installed in an approved conduit or raceway system; it is not rated for direct burial or wet locations without additional protection. Verify conduit fill calculations using the 213-mil outer diameter before pulling.
