The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn4strbrnmr is a 4/0 AWG stranded copper THHN building wire with brown PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, rated for 600 volts. It carries up to 195 amps at 60 degrees C, 230 amps at 75 degrees C, and 260 amps at 90 degrees C, making it well suited for high-ampacity branch circuit and feeder applications. The 19-strand configuration provides flexibility during pull-through conduit runs. The nylon jacket adds abrasion resistance and eases pulling. This wire is sold cut to length and is installed by licensed electricians on commercial and residential projects.
This wire is used in conduit systems for service entrance feeders, large branch circuits, panel feeds, and motor circuits where a high-ampacity copper conductor is required. The brown insulation color supports phase identification in multi-conductor installations. It is appropriate for dry locations per its 90 degrees C dry temperature rating. Electricians working on industrial, commercial, and residential distribution systems commonly specify 4/0 AWG THHN for high-load feeders and sub-panel runs.
Designed for use in conduit systems requiring a 4/0 AWG THHN-rated copper conductor at 600 volts, suitable for dry location feeder and branch circuit applications per applicable NEC requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out all circuits before working in any panel or junction box. Pull wire through listed conduit systems only; do not install as open wiring. Verify conductor ampacity derating when bundling multiple current-carrying conductors in a single conduit run.
