The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn14solpur500r is a 14 AWG solid plain copper THHN building wire with purple PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, rated for 600 volts. This wire is designed for use in conduit as branch-circuit and feeder wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical systems. It carries a 15-amp current rating and is suitable for dry environments up to 90 degrees C and wet environments up to 75 degrees C. The solid conductor construction makes it well suited for terminal connections in panels and junction boxes. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this wire type.
This wire is used in conduit runs for branch circuits, panel feeders, and general-purpose wiring applications in residential and commercial construction. The purple insulation color supports color-coded wiring schemes used in multi-phase or multi-circuit installations, making circuit identification straightforward during installation and service. The 500-foot spool provides enough wire for mid-to-large job runs without requiring multiple cuts or splices. It is appropriate for use in EMT, rigid conduit, and other raceway systems where THHN-rated wire is specified.
Designed for use in conduit and raceway systems where THHN or THWN-2 rated 14 AWG building wire is specified per NEC requirements for 15-amp branch circuits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before pulling or terminating wire. THHN wire must be installed inside an approved raceway or conduit and is not rated for direct burial or exposed outdoor use without additional protection. Avoid exceeding the conduit fill limits specified in NEC Chapter 9 tables for the raceway size being used.
