The THHNCU-GENERIC thhn12solgry2500r is a 12 AWG solid copper THHN building wire supplied on a 2500-foot reel in gray insulation. It is rated for 600 volts and carries a 90 degrees C dry / 75 degrees C wet temperature rating, making it compliant with the most common residential and light commercial branch-circuit applications. The conductor is solid plain copper with PVC insulation and a nylon jacket, which gives it the abrasion resistance and pull strength needed for conduit installation. Licensed electricians install this wire in conduit runs for 20-amp circuits. The 2500-foot reel format reduces splices and speeds up larger rough-in jobs.
This wire is suited for use in residential and light commercial electrical systems where THHN-rated conductors are required in conduit. Typical applications include 20-amp branch circuits for outlets, appliances, and general-purpose loads. Gray insulation is commonly used by electricians to identify specific circuit legs or as a neutral in multiwire branch circuits, depending on local code conventions. The solid 12 AWG construction is well-suited for device terminations and panel connections. It is appropriate for use in dry or damp locations when installed in approved conduit or raceway.
Designed for installation in conduit or approved raceways in residential and light commercial electrical systems requiring 12 AWG THHN-rated conductors on 20-amp branch circuits.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before pulling or terminating wire. THHN wire must be installed inside approved conduit or raceway and is not rated for direct burial or open-air exposure without additional protection. Verify that all termination points, including breakers, lugs, and devices, are rated for the conductor size and temperature rating being used.
