The THERMWELL V25WA is a D-section self-adhesive weatherstrip designed to seal gaps around doors, windows, and frames against air infiltration and moisture intrusion. Constructed from 100% cellular rubber EPDM, this strip maintains flexibility in extreme cold, rated down to -40 degrees F. Each strip measures 5/16 inches wide by 1/4 inches thick and runs 17 feet in length. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing allows for tool-free installation on clean, dry surfaces. It is used by HVAC service technicians, residential contractors, weatherization crews, and experienced DIYers working on building envelope sealing projects.
The V25WA is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a reliable, compressible seal is needed along door stops, window sashes, garage doors, and utility access panels. The D-section profile conforms to irregular or slightly uneven contact surfaces, improving seal performance. The white finish blends with standard door and window trim. Each package contains 12 strips, providing a total of 204 linear feet of coverage per package.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or new-installation weatherstrip for residential and light commercial doors, windows, and access panels where a D-section EPDM self-adhesive profile is specified.
Surface preparation is critical before installation: clean the mounting surface thoroughly with a degreaser and allow it to dry completely before applying the adhesive backing. This product is typically installed by weatherization technicians, general contractors, or facilities maintenance personnel and does not require specialized trade licensing. Ensure ambient and surface temperatures are above 50 degrees F at time of installation for proper adhesive bonding. Do not stretch the strip during application, as stretching can reduce adhesion and long-term seal performance.
