The THERMWELL L342H is an open-cell foam weatherstrip tape designed for sealing gaps around doors, windows, and access panels in residential and light commercial applications. The tape measures 0.75 inches wide by 0.25 inches thick and comes in a 17-foot roll. Its self-adhesive backing bonds directly to most clean surfaces, and the open-cell foam compresses flat under pressure to form a tight seal against drafts, dust, and moisture infiltration. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general contractors reach for this tape when sealing service panels, access doors, and mechanical room entries.
This tape is suited for sealing gaps in door frames, window sashes, attic hatches, and equipment enclosures. The white finish blends with painted trim and interior surfaces. The open-cell construction allows the foam to conform to irregular surfaces and rebound after compression, maintaining a consistent seal over repeated open-and-close cycles. It is well suited to both new installation and maintenance work where a quick, tool-free seal is needed.
Designed as a general-purpose weatherstrip seal for residential and light commercial doors, windows, attic hatches, and equipment access panels where a 0.75 inch by 0.25 inch foam profile is appropriate.
Clean and dry the mounting surface before applying the tape to ensure full adhesive contact. Peel the backing and press the tape firmly along the entire length of the gap, working in one continuous run where possible to avoid seam gaps. No special tools are required, but a roller or firm hand pressure improves adhesion on porous or textured surfaces. Avoid stretching the tape during application, as this can reduce effective thickness and compromise the seal.
