The THERMAL DYNAMICS 1-5830-2 is a complete plasma cutting system built around the Cutmaster 58 power supply and a 6m (20-foot) SL60QD 1Torch, configured for 400-480 VAC input. It delivers 6.2 kW of rated output at 60 amps with a 50% duty cycle, making it capable of cutting mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum up to 1 inch thick. The system features automatic multi-voltage detection so it adapts to available input power without manual switching. This unit is intended for professional plasma cutting operations in civil construction, general manufacturing, and repair and maintenance environments, and is installed and operated by qualified welding and metalworking professionals.
The 1-5830-2 is suited for applications requiring a portable, high-output plasma cutter with a 5/8-inch recommended cut capacity and a maximum cut rating exceeding 1 inch. The included SL60QD torch uses a quick-disconnect design with the Advanced Torch Connector (ATC), which allows selective replacement of either the torch handle assembly or the torch leads without replacing the entire torch assembly. The SureLok patented connection technology ensures a secure, repeatable torch connection. Typical installation scenarios include shop fabrication, field maintenance, and structural steel cutting where a self-contained, portable unit is required.
The 1-5830-2 is the 400-480 VAC, 6m torch configuration of the Cutmaster 58 system. Related models include the 208-230 VAC 6m configuration (1-5830-1), the 400-480 VAC 15.2m torch configuration (1-5831-2), the 208-230 VAC 15.2m torch configuration (1-5831-1), and standalone power supplies 3-5830-1 (208-230 VAC) and 3-5830-2 (400-480 VAC).
Installation and operation must be performed by qualified personnel familiar with plasma cutting systems and applicable electrical codes. Verify that the power source matches the 400-480 VAC input requirement before connecting the unit. Disconnect and lock out all power before servicing the torch, leads, or internal components. Follow the manufacturer documentation and applicable NFPA and NEC guidelines for safe plasma cutting setup and grounding.
