The THERMAL DYNAMICS 1-5830-1 is a complete plasma cutting system built around the Cutmaster 58 power supply, supplied with a 6-meter (20-foot) SL60QD 1Torch and configured for 208-230 VAC single-phase input. Rated at 6.2 kW output with a 60-amp cutting current, the system delivers a 50% duty cycle at full output. It cuts mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum at a recommended capacity of 0.625 inches, a maximum cut thickness greater than 1 inch, and a pierce rating of 0.5 inches. The unit is built for field portability through an integral multi-handle design and is suited for civil construction, general manufacturing, and repair and maintenance work.
This system is intended for professional plasma cutting applications in both shop and field environments. The 208-230 VAC configuration supports common single-phase service found in light industrial and contractor settings. The SL60QD torch uses the ATC (Advanced Torch Connector) quick-disconnect interface with patented SureLok technology, allowing a technician to replace either the torch handle assembly or the torch leads independently without replacing the full torch assembly. The system is also available as an RPT torch configuration. Licensed electricians and certified welding equipment technicians are the typical installers.
The 1-5830-1 is a complete Cutmaster 58 system configured for 208-230 VAC with a 6-meter SL60QD torch. Related configurations include the 208-230 VAC power supply only (3-5830-1), the 400-480 VAC 6-meter system (1-5830-2), the 400-480 VAC power supply only (3-5830-2), and 15.2-meter torch variants in both voltage ranges (1-5831-1 and 1-5831-2).
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified electrician or certified plasma cutting equipment technician. Verify that the supply circuit matches the 208-230 VAC input requirement and that circuit protection is sized appropriately before connecting the unit. Disconnect and lock out all power at the source before servicing the torch, leads, or internal components. Follow applicable NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements for industrial equipment connections and all manufacturer safety guidelines for plasma cutting operations.
