The THERMAFLEX 57903000001 is a non-insulated flexible air connector designed for medium to low pressure HVAC duct systems and air venting and drying applications. It features a corrosion-resistant spring steel wire helix laminated with multiple layers of clear and metallized polyester film, fully bonded with adhesive for durability. The connector carries a 3-inch inside diameter and ships in a 25-foot length, making it suitable for a wide range of residential and light commercial duct runs. It is UL Listed and complies with NFPA 90A and 90B fire codes, meeting UL 181 fire rating requirements. The oversized design allows for quick installation without special tooling.
This flexible connector is used in low to medium pressure air conditioning, ventilation, and air drying systems. It performs across an operating temperature range of -20 degrees F to 250 degrees F, with a maximum airflow rating of 5000 FPM. HVAC technicians and sheet metal installers typically use this connector in both residential and light commercial duct installations where a flexible, non-insulated air path is required. The silver metallized polyester film construction resists corrosion and handles the demands of standard forced-air system environments.
Designed for use in medium to low pressure air conditioning, ventilation, and air drying duct systems requiring a 3-inch non-insulated flexible air connector. Suitable for applications governed by NFPA 90A and 90B installation standards.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal contractors. Power down and lock out the air handling system before connecting or repositioning flexible duct. Secure both ends with approved clamps or draw bands per local mechanical code and UL 181 requirements. Do not compress or over-bend the flex connector, as this restricts airflow and can reduce system efficiency.
