The THERMAFLEX 52307000002 is a 7-inch diameter, 25-foot length insulated flexible air duct rated at R-8, designed for low to medium pressure HVAC distribution systems. The inner core is a heavy-gauge, corrosion-resistant steel wire helix laminated with a strong polyester film, forming a durable inner liner. Over that core sits a thick blanket of fiberglass insulation wrapped in a fiberglass scrim. The outer jacket is a durable black polyethylene vapor barrier that resists moisture infiltration. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors install this product in residential and light commercial air distribution applications.
This flexible duct is suited for supply and return air distribution in residential and light commercial forced-air systems. The 7-inch inside diameter and 25-foot coil length make it a practical choice for branch runs from plenum boxes, flex-duct transitions, and trunk-line takeoffs. The R-8 insulation value exceeds the minimum requirements of most energy codes, making it appropriate for unconditioned attic, crawlspace, and mechanical room installations where thermal performance is a priority.
Designed for low to medium pressure residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC distribution systems. Compatible with standard 7-inch round duct fittings, collars, and takeoff boots used in typical sheet metal and flex-duct installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with SMACNA flexible duct installation standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Shut down the air handler and confirm the system is depressurized before making duct connections. Support the duct at maximum 5-foot intervals to prevent sagging, which reduces airflow efficiency. Avoid sharp bends smaller than the duct diameter, as kinked flex duct significantly increases static pressure and reduces system performance.
