The THERMAFLEX 52306000002 is a 6-inch diameter, 25-foot length insulated flexible air duct rated at R-8, engineered for low to medium pressure HVAC distribution systems. The inner core is constructed from a heavy-gauge, corrosion-resistant steel wire helix laminated with a strong polyester film, providing structural support and resistance to collapse under negative pressure. A thick fiberglass insulation blanket over a fiberglass scrim delivers the R-8 thermal performance. The outer vapor barrier is a durable black polyethylene jacket. This product is installed by licensed HVAC technicians in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This flexible duct is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC systems where low to medium static pressure distribution is required. It is used in supply and return air branch runs connecting main trunk lines to diffusers, grilles, and registers. The product handles air velocities up to 5000 FPM and operates across a temperature range of -20 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it appropriate for heating, cooling, and ventilation applications in conditioned spaces and unconditioned attics or crawlspaces.
Designed as an OEM-style flexible duct replacement or new-installation component for residential and light commercial low to medium pressure forced-air HVAC systems. Available in diameter sizes from 4 inches to 20 inches ID across the product family.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with SMACNA flexible duct installation standards and applicable local mechanical codes. Power down and lock out the air handling unit before connecting or disconnecting any ductwork. Avoid sharp bends, kinks, or compression of the duct, as these reduce airflow and effective R-value. Secure all connections with approved clamps and mastic or UL-listed tape per code requirements.
