The TEMPIL 28052 is a Tempilstik temperature indicating stick rated at 850 degrees F (454 degrees C). It is a single-use, crayon-style marker applied directly to a workpiece surface before or during heating. When the surface reaches the rated temperature, the tip melts instantly, providing an immediate visual confirmation without instruments or calibration. The bullet-shaped tip allows precise application to welds, heat-treat zones, pipe joints, and other heat-affected areas. It is accurate to within plus or minus 1 percent of the Fahrenheit rating. Licensed welders, pipe fitters, heat-treat technicians, and fabricators are the primary users of this tool.
This marker is suited for metalworking, welding preheat and interpass temperature verification, brazing, annealing, and stress-relief operations. Compatible surfaces include aluminum, ceramic, glass, iron, plastic, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The 850 degrees F rating makes it a common choice for preheat verification on chrome-moly and high-carbon steel welding procedures, as well as certain brazing and soldering applications. It is used in both shop and field environments across fabrication, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial maintenance trades.
Designed for use on aluminum, ceramic, glass, iron, plastic, stainless steel, and steel surfaces where temperature verification during heating operations is required.
Apply the stick to the workpiece surface in the target heat zone before heating begins. The mark will melt when the surface reaches 850 degrees F, providing a clear visual signal. Allow the marked surface to cool before handling. Follow applicable welding procedure specifications and safety standards when performing preheat or interpass temperature checks.
